Name: Richard Walker
Nationality: British
Position: Captain
Position details:
Languages: Not specified
Description: Richard grew up on the south Devon coast with the sea running through his veins. His father was a commercial fisherman and diver. Weekends were spent sailing dinghies and helping out on the water. That early passion never left him.
After a few years managing top ski resorts in the French Alps such as Maribel and Tignes, a change in the winds led him back to the sea and into superyachting where he’s been hooked ever since. He spent four incredible years commanding the 73-meter Lunasea, taking her on a full global circumnavigation through the Mediterranean, Pacific, Indonesia, Tahiti, and Fiji. With more than a decade of experience across some of the world’s finest yachts, it’s those kinds of adventures, sharing them with others and the stories that come with them he loves most about this lifestyle.
When Richard’s not on deck, you’ll find him diving or sailing. He and his wife Kaylie own a traditional sailing yacht and are planning (one day) to sail her around the world, starting with the Canaries and working their way through the Caribbean and into the Pacific. He’s genuinely passionate about exploring the ocean and sharing those adventures with the guests aboard Sabai.

Position details: First Mate
Languages: Not specified
Description: Sean’s pathway into yachting has not been a conventional one. Having spent many years navigating the turbulent waters of secondary schools in three different countries, the lure of a new career was enough for him to trade in the whiteboard and desk for thechamois and the sea. His transition into life on the water has been in part aided by his past involvement in both team and individual sports, with the opportunity to learn new skills and visit exotic destinations making the move a rewarding one. He is lucky to have a hugely supportive family behind him, which has enabled him to continue this new journey. He is starting his third season, with this being his first time in the Caribbean.
